October 2017 Missouri Ozarks Climate Summary

October 2017 was a month with above normal temperatures.  Precipitation was above normal across west central Missouri into southeast Kansas, but well below normal for south central Missouri.  We did have one severe weather event from the evening of October 21st to the early morning of October 22nd. A fast moving storm system and cold front moved through the Missouri Ozarks and southeast Kansas Saturday evening October 21st into the early morning predawn hours Sunday October 22nd. The system brought a line of storms to the area, with widespread showers lingering across the area well into the day Sunday the 22nd. A few of the stronger storms associated with this system produced sporadic wind damage across the area. The system also brought widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches  along and west of Highway 65 with lesser amounts east of Highway 65.
